To assist staff with all types of clerical tasks, such as:  filing, photocopying, collating, scanning, faxing, unpacking boxes, stocking supplies, stuffing envelopes/information packages, light typing, mailing, preparing and packing files for storage and answering phones.

 

Must be at least 16 years old.  Be able to speak & read English.  Have good communication skills, the ability to follow instructions and work independently, and have good organization skills.  Computer knowledge a plus.  Must be able to lift/pull/push/5lbs or more.

PERFORMERS/ENTERTAINERS

Perform and entertain residents in both Assist Living and Nursing Home facilities.
 

Must be an experienced singer, dancer, musician, actor, etc.

TRANSPORTERS

Assist with transporting residents to and from Rehabilitation Dept. for a few hours a day.  Other duties will include the organization of the storage area and assistance with inventory of rehabilitation equipment. Some light clerical work.  

Must be at least 16 years old.  Must be able to lift/pull/push 5 lbs or more.

ADMISSIONS/SOCIAL SERVICE ASSISTANT
AS NEEDED

ADMISSIONS/SOCIAL SERVICE

Assist with clerical duties such as creating, organizing, and maintaining admission documentation files.  Distributing documentation to other departments and obtaining documentation from families to complete the file for Medicaid Application.

Assist in compiling and obtaining required resident contact information and other demographic information such as Social Security Number, Medicare effective dates and contact sheets in resident files.  Also assist with obtaining resource information for two groups being organized for nursing home and assisted living residents.  This may require going to agencies in the community to obtain materials and resources. 
 

Must be at least 17 years of age and have own transportation. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interview and obtain requested information and materials for groups. Ability to follow instructions, work independently, have strong communication and organizational skills. Must be reliable, have good work ethics and have an interest in Social Services/Administration.

The Actors Fund’s Health Clinic has a unique opportunity to offer volunteer physicians - a way to give back to a community that helps give New York its vitality and excitement and makes this city the entertainment capital of the world. Be a part of helping those who work professionally in the performing arts do what they do best. The Hirschfeld Clinic provides a vital service to the uninsured and under-insured in the performing arts community, offering quality free medical services.   As a physician volunteer, you will see dancers, musicians, actors, theater ushers, stage hands, writers, and anyone else who works in front of or behind the scenes in the industry.

The Clinic is looking for volunteer physicians who are willing to either come into the clinic to see patients or see patients, at no cost, in their private offices.

While the Clinic is interested in all specialties, currently we have particular needs in the following areas:

   1. Dermatology
   2. Orthopedics
   3. Gastroenterology
   4. Psychiatrist
   5. Internist/General Practicioner
